Solo Show at Mondo Gallery: “A Rogues Gallery”
I am proud to announce that Mondo Gallery is hosting my first ever solo art exhibition, entitled A Rogues Gallery. Mondo has built a name for itself on popular culture, and movie related art, employs some of the finest art directors I have ever worked with. They have always allowed me to express my true creative self, with constructive, and inspiring guidance to expand my artistic voice.
Summary:
My upcoming art show pays tribute to some of my favorite monsters and villains throughout the history of genre movies. I’ve always been fascinated by the antagonistic or evil characters in horror, science fiction, and fantasy films. These creatures demanded your attention, with their speech, their actions, their appearance. My intent is to celebrate these characters, and hail them in the most iconic way, demonstrating their inherent powers and intensity of personality.
The art displayed will consist of a variety of paintings and screen prints, as well as pencil studies which served as the basis for the work. The style will be indicative of the art I’ve built my career upon over the last 15 years: high contrast, dynamic, and saturated with color. My experience working in the contemporary commercial art world has developed my style, that rides the line between classic advertising art, and modern pop surrealism. I am influenced by the golden age of illustration, painted movie posters, toy packaging and pulp novel covers as well as pop spanning the last 50 years. My style is fitting for the subject matter: bold and loud, full of color and intensity. This gallery exhibition will allow me and my work, to showcase the best of the worst: some of the most dangerous, villainous, and magnetic personalities ever filmed.
